Contrasting images of landscape and nature - a journey of discovery
Welcome to my website - a personal portfolio of travels, mainly around Britain. The variety and diversity of our landscape never ceases to amaze and each location brings something fresh and new.
Having lived on the Surrey/Sussex border for many years I have now moved to South Devon. This relocation has been planned for many years and I cannot wait to explore my new area in depth, especially Dartmoor and the rugged Devon coastline.
I am however most inspired by the open spaces, beauty and raw grandeur of the more remote parts of Britain - the highlands and islands of Scotland being my favourite locations. Mood and inspiration go hand in hand - spending time in these places allows me to adapt to a slower pace of life, and to adopt the more thoughtful and creative approach essential for good landscape photography.
A browse through these galleries will reveal that I have quite a diverse approach to landscape photography. Small details are as important to me as the bigger picture, and I am always looking for natural abstract patterns. The use of black and white can be effective with this and I now find myself more and more drawn to monochrome, including infrared.
I have had many photographs published in photographic magazines and hope to increase my exposure in the future. I am also available to give a range of talks to clubs or organisations who may be interested. I specialise in various aspects of landscape photography, including monochrome, infrared and abstract subjects. If your organisation would like to know more, please email me using the 'contact' menu.
Please enjoy these images, which I hope convey some of the atmosphere and mood of the locations.
